Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s Eisner-winning superhero saga will return in 2018. Black Hammer: Age of Doom picks up after the events of Black Hammer #13, the final issue in the current ongoing. Lemire, Ormston, colorist Dave Stewart, and letterer Todd Klein are returning for the new series, which will debut in April. The first issue sports a variant cover by Skottie Young (I Hate Fairyland), and the second issue variant is from Fabio Moon (How to Talk to Girls at Parties, Two Brothers).
Black Hammer launched from Dark Horse in July 2016, and won this year’s Eisner Award for Best New Series (see “'Saga' Stands Out at the 2017 Eisners”). The final issue in the current series hit shelves this month, but fans won’t have long to wait for more. Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil, the first of several planned spinoff miniseries set in the Black Hammer universe, will launch on October 18 (see “Jeff Lemire's 'Black Hammer' Spawns Spin-Offs”).
