Just in time for the holidays, Rio Grande Games will release Santa’s Workshop, expected to hit store shelves around Thanksgiving.

Santa can’t deliver toys unless the elves have built them, and that is the challenge for the players in Santa’s Workshop.  Built around a worker placement style game system, each player leads their team of hard-working elves rushing to finish their tasks before the big night.  Elves can be sent for training to improve their abilities, construct gifts, and tend the reindeer.  At the end of the game, the elves that do the best job are rewarded with a nice long vacation to someplace warm and sunny.

Santa’s Workshop is the first published design by Keith Ferguson.  The game is for 2 to 5 players, ages 14 and up, and takes 45 to 90 minutes to play.  MSRP is $59.95.

Rio Grande is also poised to release a new Dominion expansion called Nocturne (see “Night Comes to ‘Dominion’”).
