Chaosium will release Petersen’s Abominations: Five Epic Tales of Modern Horror for the Call of Cthulhu role playing game to trade in March.

Sandy Petersen designed Call of Cthulhu in 1980. He also designed scenarios every year as original one-shot games for conventions he attends.  Five of these scenarios have been adapted, with the help of Call of Cthulhu line editor Mike Mason, as modern-day adventures. The collection includes: Panacea, Hotel Hell, Mohole, The Derelict, and Voice on the Phone.

The 200-page full color hardcover has an MSRP is $39.95.

The PDF was released this week for $19.95. All customers who bought the PDF will receive a coupon for $19.95 as a discount off the purchase price of the hardcover release directly through Chaosium in February. Chaosium is also part of the Bits and Mortar program, so when customers purchase the physical hardcover from participating game stores, they will receive the PDF for free (see “Publishers Join Bits and Mortar”).
