Ares Games has announced a new expansion and accessories for its cooperative board and miniatures fantasy game Sword & Sorcery: Immortal Souls.

Sword & Sorcery: Arcane Portal is a campaign expansion that introduces new quests and terrifying enemies.  The box includes: 16 32mm scale plastic figures, 11 double–sided map tiles, 9 enemy scrolls, 127 tokens and markers, 1 storybook, 1 book of secrets, and 1 reference sheet. As an expansion it requires the base game to play. Release is planned for April. MSRP was not announced.

The Hero Packs add new characters to the campaign. The first two Hero Packs: Onamor and Victoria will release in February. The second Hero Packs: Morrigan and Ryld are planned for April. Onamor can be played as a Chaotic Necromancer or as a Lawful Summoner. Victoria can be played as a Lawful Captain or a Chaotic Pirate. Morrigan can be played as a Demon Huntress or a Witch Huntress.  Ryld can be played as a Chaotic Bard or a Lawful Blademaster. The Hero Packs include plastic figure(s), a Hero sheet, Hero Cards, Power cards, Treasure cards, tokens, and a Soul gem. MSRP was not announced.

The Ghost Soul Form Heroes set can replace the figures of any of the five heroes in the main game when a hero dies during a Quest. The Ghost Soul form can also be used to create an alternate version of each figure, if players wish to paint them. There are also background talent cards, providing optional additional talents for the heroes. The set includes 5 plastic figures, and 10 background talent cards. Release is planned for April. MSRP was not announced.

Ares released Sword & Sorcery  in 2017 after a successful Kickstarter project that raised $517,622 from 3,745 backers ($138.22 / each) (see “Ares Games' Epic Fantasy Co-op Board Game.”)
