Covering the areas to the west of the Misty Mountains, the Rivendell Region Guide includes background for eastern Eriador, Angmar, Fornost, Mount Gram, and Tharbad, along with the background of Rivendell itself and write-ups of some of that haven’s most illustrious inhabitants, Elrond, Arwen, Glorfindel, and the White Council.
In addition to historical and geographical information, this guidebook offers new adversaries and Fellowship undertakings for players to contend with, rules for making more powerful adversaries to confront more powerful heroes, and optional “Eye of Mordor” rules to reflect the attention a Fellowship may attract from “the Enemy.” To aid the heroes, the book also has rules for playing High Elves of Rivendell and for magical treasures, with stats for dozens of artifacts.
The Rivendell Region Guide was converted from already-published sourcebooks for The One Ring role playing game by writer Jacob Rodgers (who has converted other Cubicle 7 titles to 5e), and sports a cover image by fantasy artist Ralph Horsley. MSRP is $39.99.
Cubicle 7 has also promised a sourcebook for the infamous depths of Moria, scheduled for later this year (see “Cubicle 7 Opens the Black Pit of Moria”).
