Danny Boyle has confirmed that he is working on the next installment in the James Bond movie franchise.
The filmmaker behind 28 Days Later and Slumdog Millionaire confirmed his participation during a special screening of his new FX series Trust reports Variety. Boyle affirmed that he is working on the script for the 25th Bond film with screenwriter John Hodge, noting that whether he directs depends on the outcome of the script process. He’s currently working on another project, but noted that Bond would begin production at the end of the year.
Daniel Craig is set to reprise the title role in the new movie, which is set to open November 8, 2019.
Sam Mendes worked on the last two Bond films, Skyfall and Spectre, the latter of which posted one of the largest openings for the enduring franchise (see "Bond & Charlie Brown Revive The Box Office").
Dynamite Entertainment has the license for comics based on Ian Fleming’s super spy and began releasing a six issue miniseries, James Bond: The Body, in January (see "New Bond, Xena, Battlestar Galactica").
