New York Comic Con News -- Dynamite Entertaiment today announced three new licensed projects and a creator owned title in advance of NYCC.

Dynamite has tapped Ales Kot (Zero, Secret Avengers) to write James Bond: The Body, a six-issue miniseries that kicks off in January. In the story, Bond’s cuts and bruises are the impetus for the tale he tells the doctor treating the injuries.  The artist for the series was not revealed. Dynamite nabbed the comic book rights to the revered superspy in 2014 (see “Dynamite Nabs 'Bond, James Bond'”), and a full-color adaptation of James Bond: Casino Royale will be in stores November 8 (see "'Street Fighter,' 'The Librarians,' 'James Bond'").

The Xena: Warrior Princess TV reboot may be dead for now (see “'Xena' Reboot Is Dead”), but Dynamite is extending their partnership with NBCUniversal to release more comics based on the pop culture phenomenon. Xena #1 is written by Meredith Finch (Wonder Woman, Rose) and will be in stores in February. David Finch provides a cover for the first issue, but the interior artist was not revealed.

It’s Battlestar 1978 versus Battlestar 2003 in the Battlestar Galactica miniseries from writer Peter David.  The crossover brings together the characters and plotlines from the classic Battlestar Galactica that aired on ABC in the late 1970s and the acclaimed Syfy reboot from the early aughts.  A release date and artist are yet to be announced, but John Cassaday (Planetary, Captain America) provided one of the covers for the first issue. Dynamite has had the license for BSG comics since 2006 (see “Greg Pak To Write 'Battlestar Galactica'”).

In April, Dynamite will release Robots Vs. Princesses, a creator-owned original series from writer Todd Matthy and artist Nicolas Chapuis.  The all-ages mash-up of princess tales and mecha anime had a very successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this summer. Andrea Tamme (Black Light District: 6 Issues), Rod Epsinosa (The Courageous Princess), and  Sean Von Gorman (GWAR: Orgazmagedon, Toe Tag Riot) provide variant covers for the series.

Dynamite has announced a handful of projects this week, including series for Charlie’s Angels (see "'Charlie's Angels' Reunite"), Pumpkinhead, and Dejah Thoris (see “Cullen Bunn Writing 'Pumpkinhead' for Dynamite”).
