Marvel’s First Family will be returning to comics in a new monthly series launching in August.

The series will be written by Dan Slott, with art by Sara Pichelli.  The announcement, made by Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski and Creative Executive Ryan Penagos, was accompanied by the tagline "After a spacefaring Foray into the Unknown, Marvel’s First Family returns."

"Chip Zdarsky is doing a wonderful job with that Marvel Two-In-One," Cebulski said in the announcement, "that book is going to continue, but Reed and Sue will be coming back to the Marvel Universe and that team will be reforming."

The Fantastic Four, Marvel's first characters, have been absent from publishing for years in a dispute over media rights to the property, which are held by Fox (along with the media rights to the X-Men universe), and which Marvel wants back.  Now Disney has inked a deal to acquire some Fox assets, which would include those rights (see "Disney-Fox Deal Signed"), and publishing of stories featuring those characters is gearing up once more.  "Reed, Sue, Ben, Johnny: welcome home," Marvel said in its announcement.
