Millenium Films has found a screenwriter for the latest cinematic outing of Red Sonja: Ashley Edward Miller, who previously worked on X-Men: First Class, Thor, Fringe, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and the screenplay for the Dwayne Johnson-starring remake of Big Trouble in Little China (see "Dwayne Johnson in 'Big Trouble In Little China'"). The cinematic take on the She-Devil with a Sword was fast-tracked after the success of Warner Bros.’s Wonder Woman film, according to Deadline.
Red Sonja is being produced by Millenium, Mark Canton and Courtney Solomon of Cinelou, Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman, and Red Sonja rights holder Luke Lieberman. Further details on the plot and casting are pending.
Dynamite Entertainment publishes the comic book interation of the character, who is currently co-starring with Tarzan in a crossover from Gail Simone and Walter Geovani, two creators who have long been associated with the character (see "Red Sonja, Tarzan, And Sherlock Holmes Headline Upcoming Dynamite Releases").
