Zombicide: Invader is the next game in CMON’s continuing survival horror series, expected to release in May 2019 (see “‘Zombicie’ Goes to Outer Space in ‘Invader’”). Like earlier titles in the series, CMON is funding the project through a Kickstarter campaign. This campaign hit its quarter-million dollar funding goal within 15 minutes of launch, rocketing past the half-million mark halfway through the first day. The campaign will include the Black Ops expansion plus a number of exclusives and stretch goal incentives.
Retailers are being invited to participate in the campaign through CMON’s Retail Pledge program, which was launched last year as a part of the CMON Play OP program (see “CMON Unveils Brick and Mortar Retail Program”). After making a small deposit, participating stores can order the game at a 40% discount off the Kickstarter price of $150 per game, which includes all of the Kickstarter incentives. Retail Pledge participants will receive their copies at the same time as other Kickstarter backers, which is expected to precede the eventual trade release.
