Flying Frog Productions has revealed plans for its upcoming Shadows of Brimstone releases, including a new stand-alone core set/expansion set called Forbidden Fortress scheduled to release in October, as well as two Mission Pack expansions planned for May and July and a Deluxe OtherWorld expansion coming in September.
Shadows of Brimstone: Forbidden Fortress takes the pulp action of the game to tradition-steeped feudal Japan. Now players can assume the role of honorable Samurai, deadly Ninja, or demon-hunting Monks as they explore the island nation and try to halt evil plots. Players can even explore a new OtherWorld, the Belly of the Beast.
Forbidden Fortress is designed to provide a good jumping-in point for new players, and can be played on its own. It is also fully compatible with all previous Shadows of Brimstone sets, and can be used for new playing options and material for existing fans. MSRP is $99.95.
Other new adventures for the game can be found in three new expansions:
The Shadows of Brimstone: Werewolf Feral Kin Mission Pack sends players in pursuit of a pack of beastly lycanthropes. This set includes 6 large Werewolf Feral Kin models, 1 Objective Room Map Tile, more than 40 new cards, and 4 new Missions that can be played as a narrative campaign. MSRP is $39.95. Werewolf Feral Kin will release in May.
The Shadows of Brimstone: Order of the Crimson Hand Mission Pack reveals a two thousand year old cult that has been secretly gathering mystical artifacts for their dark rituals while working behind the scenes to manipulate society. This expansion comes with 12 Crimson Hand cultists, 1 Objective Room Map Tile, more than 40 new cards, and 4 Missions that form a narrative campaign. MSRP is $44.95. Order of the Crimson Hand will release in July.
The Blasted Wastes Deluxe Expansion explores a distant desert planet used as a penal colony by alien civilizations, full of hostile man-eating creatures and long-lost alien artifacts. The set features 18 new double-sided Map Tiles for the desert world with canyons on the back sides, a deck of cards for exploring the new worlds, 6 Wasteland Scavengers, 3 Sand Crabs, 3 Wasteland Warlords, and 6 Tribal Ghost Warriors, as well as an alien Barter Town for heroes to visit. MSRP is $79.95. Blasted Wastes will release in September.
Flying Frog released a steady stream of new content for Shadows of Brimstone last year as well (see "Flying Frog’s 2017 Releases").
