The Avengers will assemble on the West Coast with both Hawkeyes in the mix. Kelly Thompson (Hawkeye) and artist Stefano Caselli (Avengers) are behind West Coast Avengers, a limited series set in the 1980s. The series launches on August 22.

Clint Barton and Kate Bishop will protect LA from evil with the help of Gwenpool, Quentin Quire, Kate’s boyfriend Johnny, and America Chavez. But the new West Coast Avengers don’t have Tony Stark’s pocketbook to back them up, so they turn to The Real World-style reality TV to fund their crusade.

The West Coast Avengers first assembled in 1984, with then-the-only-Hawkeye Clint Barton at the helm. The original lineup included Mockingbird, Wonder Man, Tigra, and Jim Rhodes as Iron Man. John Byrne notably worked on several issues in the series, creating yet another Avengers spinoff, the Great Lakes Avengers, who have also popped up in recent history (see “'Great Lakes Avengers' Land Ongoing Series”).
