The usual gang of idiots behind MAD Magazine have cast the Penguin in a parody of a beloved children’s book.
Don’t Let the Penguin Drive the Batmobile is a totally unauthorized parody of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, a bestselling and Caldecott-winning early readers book by Mo Willems. Written by Jacob Lambert and drawn by Tom Richmond, the parody casts the Penguin in the role of Pigeon, only instead of doing everything he can to drive a bus, the Penguin’s target is the Batmobile. The 32-page, 9" x 9" volume will be in stores on October 10 for an MSRP of $14.99.
MAD Magazine itself recently moved from New York to DC Entertainment’s Burbank, California, offices and relaunched with Bill Morrison as Executive Editor (see "'MAD' to Relaunch in April").
