At ACD Games Day, Daily Magic was showing off its latest upcoming release, Crabs, slated for July.

In the game, players try to catch as many crabs as they can and sell them at the crab market to score victory points.  In order to catch a crab, a player uses other cards as rope to tie their crab catch up.  Once caught, the crab can be sold to a market vender.  Players can also upgrade their crab-catching gear, allowing them to catch and bind crabs using fewer cards, represented by crab-shaped “meeple” tokens.

Crabs was created by the designer known as shane007,and was published originally by Moideas in Taiwan.  The game is intended for 2 to 5 players, ages 10 and up, and takes about half an hour to play.  MSRP is $20.00.

In November, Daily Magic will release an English version of the Japanese card game Birdie Fight (see “Daily Magic Brings ‘Songbirds’ From Japan”).
