Texas-based comics and games retailer Dragon’s Lair has launched a unique marketing initiative. Meeples & Manuals is a weekly webcomic written by Brian Murphy and drawn by Martin Whitmore. A new strip is posted on the Dragon's Lair website every Wednesday.

Meeples & Manuals follows the adventures of Chris, Zee, Aparna, Miquel, Em, Gary, and Gwen, a diverse group of characters who find escape from their everyday worries in gaming. The webcomic emphasizes the ways in which a game store supports the community, and given the popularity of webcomics in general, it is an inventive way to promote both gaming and the franchise.
