Corvus Belli has announced plans to cease all production of the Merovingia faction from its Infinity miniatures game, effective this August.
As the storyline for the Infinity setting continues to evolve, Corvus Belli intends to add new factions to the game and remove old ones (see “Japan Breaks Free in ‘Infinity: Uprising’”). This summer, the Merovingia faction is on the chopping block to make room for upcoming new groups.
However, the faction will not simply vanish from the setting, and players can continue to use the Merovingians in their games, and the army will still be part of the Infinity Army App. However, production of models will cease, and no new units will be added to the faction “indefinitely,” though this “does not mean that these products will not be launched again in the future,” the company said.
Corvus Belli is offering a special deal for distributors and retailers who want to help fans collect Merovingian models while they are still available. In addition, the company is offering a De Hell Merovingian Mission Set as a digital download. This scenario pack depicts the last decisive battles of the Merovingian army.
