Origins Game Fair attendance went up substantially again in 2018, according to show organizer The Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA), with over a third more people at the show on any given day than two years ago.
The number of unique attendees grew 9.7% this year to 18,648, up from 17,001 last year.
Turnstile attendance (the sums of daily attendance) was up 20% to 70,765 from 58,958 last year.
Last year also saw attendance increases in both categories (see “Origins Attendance Up”), and the two-year growth rates are impressive. The number of unique attendees was up 20% from 2016 to 2018, and turnstile attendance was up a whopping 35%. If the show seems more crowded than it did two years ago, that’s because the number of people at the show on any given day is up over a third from 2016.
