Marvel and IDW Publishing are partnering on a kid-friendly line of monthly comics and trade paperback collections. The line from IDW is aimed at middle grades readers with a goal to introduce classic Marvel characters to a new generation of readers.
The team-up will launch in November with a Spider-Man series featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales (sharp-eyed observers will also see Spider Gwen on the cover art). An Avengers series will follow in December, with a Black Panther series set to hit stands in January 2019. Details on the creative teams and plots are pending.
IDW publishes a number of comics for younger readers that star characters from other companies’ franchises, especially for Marvel parent Disney. The entertainment giant turns to IDW to publish kid-friendly takes on Star Wars and other franchises (see "IDW to Produce Star Wars Kids Comics" and “'Big Hero 6' Will Defend San Fransokyo in New Comics").
