The Celtic and Norse inspired role playing game Trudvang Chronicles will be reimagined in board game form when CMON publishes Trudvang Legends next year.
Trudvang Chronicles was published by RiotMinds to bring the world of the Norse and Celtic sagas to the tabletop, inviting players to become legendary heroes whose actions forever change the game’s dynamic fantasy world. That spirit has been translated into board game form by Eric M. Lang (Blood Rage, Rising Sun), Guilherme Goulart (Arcadia Quest), and Fel Barros (The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch, Looterz).
In Trudvang Legends, players explore the world and pursue adventures through a series of inter-connected "Adventure Books." The actions they take will trigger changes to the game board, altering the paths of nations and kings, and their characters can become kings, guildmasters, or even gods themselves. The next generation of heroes then encounters a world that reflects the changes wrought by those earlier adventurers. Since the game world itself changes, even if players return to an Adventure Book again, the experience will be different.
The new game will feature artwork from a stable of artists including Paul Bonner (Magic: The Gathering, Arcana), Alvaro Tapia (Warzone: Universe Under Siege), Gio Guimaraes, and Henning Ludvigsen (Blood Rage), and will include miniatures sculpted by Juan Navarro Perez, Arnaud Boudoiron, Edgar Ramos, and Aragorn Marks.
Product details and MSRP have not yet been announced. CMON plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise funding for the project in Q2 2019.
Trudvang Legends joins two other miniatures-based board games CMON is planning to launch next year (see “CMON Revamps ‘Project: Elite’” and “CMON Reveals First Licensed ‘Munchkin’ Game”).
