Periodic is a strategy board game designed around the periodic table of elements that introduces some of the fundamental principles in chemistry as game mechanics (activating periodic trends to move, discovering new elements to score points). In the game, players collect sets of elements and advance their research as they move though the periodic table. Using energy, they can activate periodic trends and move along the board in different directions. However, energy is finite, and must be conserved to last through the game. Players fulfill goals and complete research, earning victory points. The player who amasses the most points, wins. The game is for 2 – 5 players ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 – 40 minutes. Tentative MSRP is $39.99.
The game is currently funding via a Kickstarter campaign that has already met its modest $12,500 goal and will continue through October 18. Backer fulfillment is scheduled for June 2019, with trade release to follow.
