For April 13th

Satoshi Kon's Tokyo Godfathers will be released on DVD in the U.S. on April 13th, in a widescreen, subtitled version at a $26.96 MSRP. A 'making of' featurette will be included. Although the per-screen numbers in its limited U.S. release were relatively good (see 'Tokyo Godfathers Strong in Limited Opening'), it never hit more than ten screens. And since the film was shut out of Oscar contention (see 'Anime Shut Out at the Oscars'), Columbia appears to have made the decision to go straight to video rather than attempt a broader theatrical release.
