Arcane Wonders offered a look at several of its upcoming titles at this year’s GAMA Trade Show, including Dragonscales and Volcanic Island.

In Dragonscales, designed by Richard Launius (Arkham Horror, Elder Sign), players take the role of villains that are bold enough to take on a mighty, three-headed dragon. Each villain will have their own unique deck of actions and tactics to use against their opponents.  Each player will also roll dice each turn that are slotted on their board for different actions.  As dice are slotted, benefits are awarded based on rolling more dice of a certain face.

The main objective is to either slay the dragon by eating all three heads or escape.  If a player escapes while the others are fighting, and are the only villain near the exit, they gain bonus points for fleeing.  On the other hand, if they flee and the dragon is killed, the player gets a penalty for running.   lot depends on whether the dragon is slain or not, as well as what the players roll.

Dragonscales is for 3 - 5 players, ages 14 and up.  MSRP is $59.99 and release is set for Gen Con.

In Volcanic Isle, players take the role of the settlers of the lost continent of Mu.  Players take turns constructing new settlements and erecting the Moai statues in an attempt to calm the gods to stop the volcanoes on the board.  The statues, however, cause problems by creating fissures on the land where they are placed.  Whenever a fissure completely wraps around an area of the board, that board piece is removed and reduces the play space

As play continues, fault lines are created that cause different portions of the board to be removed.  The game concludes when a certain number of players remain or a certain portion of the island is removed.  The remaining settler with the best settlement, represented by the most land and culture, is the winner.

Volcanic Isle is for 2 - 4 players, ages 13 and up. MSRP is $49.99.  The game will debut at Origins with trade release in July.

Arcane Wonders announced expansions for RWBY: Combat Ready and Mage Wars Academy, as well as a new war time card game called Air, Land & Sea (see "Expansions for ‘RWBY: Combat Ready’ and ‘Mage Wars Academy’").
