Marvel Comics has revealed new collections in the X-Men Milestones series, expanding its library of key moments in X-Men history as Jonathan Hickman begins a new era for the X-Men universe (see “Hickman Leads Way To New X-Men Universe, All Other X-Men Series To Be Canceled”). Five volumes will be released this Fall. Announced last November (see “Marvel Marks ‘X-Men Milestones’”), X-Men Milestones collect the biggest adventures of the X-Men’s past.
X-Men Milestones: Inferno collects a story of demons and secrets as Limbo’s demon-lords corrupt Illyana Raspution and Madelyne Pryor to bring a horde of demons to New York City. Inferno features work by Louise Simonson, Chris Claremont, Jon Bognadove, Marc Silvestri, Terry Shoemaker and Walt Simonson. The 496-page volume includes X-Terminators 1-4; Uncanny X-Men (1981) 239-243; X-Factor (1986) 35-39; New Mutants (1983) 71-73. MSRP is $34.99 and releases in September. X-Men Milestones: X-Tinction Agenda finds the X-Men invading Genosha, a mutant-enslaving island, to rescue someone close to them. X-Tinction Agenda is written by Chris Claremont and Louise Simonson, featuring the art of Rick Leonardi, Marc Silvestri, Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld. The 328-page volume includes Uncanny X-Men (1981) 235-238, 270-272; New Mutants (1983) 95-97; X-Factor (1986) 60-62. MSRP is $34.99 and releases September/October. X-Men Milestones: X-Cutioner’s Song brings the true identities of Cable and his doppelgänger Stryfe to light as the X-Men, X-Factor and X-Force go to war with one another when friends are kidnapped and Professor X is assassinated. X-Cutioner’s Song features work by Scott Lobdell, Fabian Nicieza, Peter David, Brandon Peterson, Jae Lee, Andy Kubert and Greg Capullo. The 368-page volume collects Uncanny X-Men (1981) 294-297; X-Factor (1986) 84-86; X-Men (1991) 14-16; X-Force (1991) 16-18; Stryfe’s Strike File 1. MSRP is $34.99 and releases in October/November. X-Men Milestones: Fatal Attractions brings the X-teams together to take on Magneto’s Acolytes that culminates with a showdown between Professor Xavier and Magneto after a devastating attack on Wolverine. Fatal Attractions features work by Scott Lobdell, Joe Quesada, J.M. DeMatteis, Fabian Nicieza, Brandon Peterson, John Romita, Richard Bennett and Roger Cruz. The 504-page volume collects Uncanny X-Men (1981) 298-300, 303-304, 315; X-Factor (1986) 92; X-Force (1991) 25; X-Men Unlimited (1993) 2; X-Men (1991) 25; Wolverine (1988) 75; Excalibur (1988) 71. MSRP is $44.99 and releases in November. X-Men Milestones: Phalanx Covenant collects the story of anti-mutant bigots resurrecting the Phalanx, a techno-organic alien nightmare that absorbs all in its path.
