In Ninja Squad, a gang of chibi-style ninja warriors must infiltrate the Shogun’s Palace, assassinate the evil warlord, and make good their escape. The first part of the game is played cooperatively, with the players working together to outwit the Shogun’s guards and complete their mission. However, once that task is complete, the game transitions into an each-for-themselves race for freedom, forcing the players to balance the needs of the mission against their own urge for survival.
The game was designed by Yan Yegorov (Swords and Bagpipes). It features 4 unpainted Ninja All Star miniatures from Ninja Division and Soda Pop Publishing, 6 double-sided game boards, 1 Shogun’s Palace board, 45 plastic cubes, 114 cards, 24 wooden meeple figures, 1 ninja star, and 17 tokens. It is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and takes about half an hour to play. MSRP is $34.99.
