Pinnacle Entertainment Group has announced that its license for The Savage World of Solomon Kane role playing game will end on December 31 with the rights reverting to Cabinet Entertainment.

Pinnacle has been producing its Solomon Kane role playing game for a decade (see “‘Solomon Kane RPG Ships Late October”) as part of its Savage Worlds game line.  In a press release, Pinnacle announced that the two companies were parting ways.  To ease the transition, Pinnacle will release a short “conversion document” this month that will update all Solomon Kane materials to the current edition of Savage Worlds.  The company will also offer a sale on remaining inventory for the game.  Sales of the game in both electronic and print formats will cease when the license ends on December 31.

Cabinet Entertainment, which owns the rights to Robert E. Howard’s characters, has announced plans to launch its own line of role playing games based on the author’s works under its Perilous Worlds imprint (see “Cabinet Entertainment Launching Game Line”).
