Pandasaurus Games will release Godspeed through distributors in Spring 2020, after its release to Kickstarter backers.
Godspeed is a worker placement game set in the 1960s in an alternate reality. Players take on the roles of various nations racing to colonize the newly discovered Exoplanet. The game plays out in rounds, each made up of three phases. During the different phases, players will have to respond to active events back on Earth or on the Exoplanet, bid on cargo shipments from Earth that contain valuable supplies, and build up production or gain raw materials. In the end, the most successful nation on the Exoplanet wins.
Godspeed will include a game board, round marker, tiebreaker marker, first player token, 25 production building tiles, 25 team member, 5 nation boards, 20 prestige scoring markers, 20 flags scoring markers, 200 resource tokens, 7 milestone statues, 144 development cards, 10 initial objective cards, 25 High Council cards, 8 cargo hold cards, 62 supply cards, 12 Lunar Season cards, 8 relic power tiles, 5 reference cards, and score pads.
Godspeed is for 2 to 5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 90 minutes.
Pandasuarus is currently raising funding for Godspeed on Kickstarter, with over $100,000 in pledges from more than 1,500 backers on the first day. A retailer backer level is being offered, with extras included, for April shipping.
The tabletop category for Kickstarter projects has been on a rise in 2019 (see "Tabletop Game Kickstarters Still Growing").
