Image Comics will release two products tied to the Chew-niverse created by John Layman and Rob Guillory this summer: a spinoff series and a spinoff collection.

The new series Chu will be written by Layman with art by Dan Boultwood, and feature Tony Chu’s sister Saffron, who did not appear in Chew.  While Tony Chu was a cibopath, able to get psychic impressions from what he eats, Saffron Chu is a cibopars, able to learn secrets from people she eats with.  They are on opposite sides, as Saffron is a criminal while Tony is a cop.

Chu will launch in comic shops on June 17. 

Image will release a collection of the Skybound Outer Darkness/Chew crossover by Layman, Guillory, and Afu Chan, in comic stores on July 15 and on July 21 in the book channel.
