Roleplaying game artist Jim Holloway passed away peacefully Sunday surrounded by his family, according to a post by his son to the Art of Jim Holloway Facebook group. The post also included the photo of a painting for The Hobbit that accompanies this article.
Holloway was a prolific artist from the early days of pen-and-paper RPGs, contributing art for Dungeons & Dragons, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Dragon magazine, Paranoia, numerous products from the BattleTech family, Chill, Dungeon Crawl Classics, and others. He developed a substantial fan base along the way, as evidenced by the 1000+ members of the Facebook group linked above.
