IDW Publishing has announced the Fall/Winter schedule for Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s Locke & Key franchise, including a crossover with DC’s Sandman.

The new story arc, Locke & Key: …In Pale Battalions Go… kicks off in August and runs for three issues, one a month.  Set in 1915, this story follows John Locke, who is too young to go off to war but attempts to use the strange properties of the keys to change the course of the battle (see "Locke & Key: In Pale Battalions Go").

This story is a lead-in to the Locke & Key/Sandman crossover, which will launch in October with Locke & Key - The Sandman Universe: Hell & Gone #0.  This prequel issue includes two reprinted stories.  "Open the Moon," a 2011 story that originally appeared in Locke & Key: Guide to the Known Keys, features Locke family patriarch Chamberlin Locke using the Moon Key to unlock a new world.  The second story is from Sandman and introduces the Dream of the Endless to Locke & Key readers.

After this prequel, the two-part crossover story will be presented in two issues of Locke & Key - The Sandman Universe: Hell & Gone to be published in November and January, with the November issue to be published by IDW Publishing and the January issue by DC.

In addition to this new material, IDW Publishing will publish The Locke & Key Compendium, a 900-page hardcover collection of all six volumes of the original story, on October 21 with an MSRP of $125.00.

Finally, in February 2021, Locke & Key moves into Spanish with the release of Locke & Key Vol. 1: Bienvenidos a Lovecraft, which collects the first six-issue Welcome to Lovecraft storyline.

The Locke & Key Netflix series got a renewal in March, but no news on when it will go into production or be aired (see "Netflix Renews One of Three IDW Comic-Based Series").
