The small publisher Silver Sprocket will take over distribution for Hazel Newlevant’s self-published graphic novels, which include Sugar Town, a love story with bisexual, polyamorous characters; Chain Mail Bikini, an anthology of 40 comics by women and nonbinary people about gaming and what it means to them; and the Ignatz Award-winning Comics for Choice, an anthology of comics about abortion. All three were previously distributed by Alternative Comics via Consortium / Ingram Publisher Services.

Newlevant, who uses they/them pronouns, is a former editor at Lion Forge (see “Lion Forge Expands Editorial Staff”). Their graphic novel No Ivy League was published by Lion Forge in 2019, and they were also co-editor of the Eisner Award-winning anthology Puerto Rico Strong. Those books are now part of the Oni Press backlist, since Lion Forge and Oni merged in 2019 (see “Lion Forge, Oni Press to Merge”) and will continue to be distributed via Oni Press’s usual channels, including Simon & Schuster for the retail book market.
