In January, Matagot will release Monster Soup and the Captain Silver:  Revenge Island expansion for Treasure Island.  Both titles will be distributed in North America through Asmodee.

The family-friendly Monster Soup challenges players to cook up a “delicious” soup that will appeal to their monster friends by searching for the proper ingredients blind.  Ingredients of different shapes can be found in the player bags, which players must search without looking to fill their soup bowls.

The game comes with 40 shaped wooden ingredients, 4 fabric bags, 4 cardboard bowls, 40 “slime” cubes, and 10 recipe cards.  Intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 5 and up, it takes about 15 minutes to play.  Monster Soup was designed by Asger Harding Granerud and Daniel Skjold Pedersen (the creators of Frogriders, 13 Days:  The Cuban Missile Crisis, and Copenhagen).  MSRP is $29.99.  Includes instructions in English, French, and Dutch.

The Captain Silver:  Revenge Island expansion for 2018’s Treasure Island introduces a new storyline to the game.  Captain Silver, fled to Revenge Island, has been arrested by the English garrison.  Now the players must try to complete their own goals before the notorious pirate can escape.

The expansion was created by Treasure Island’s designer Marc Paquien and includes 2 double-sided game boards, 1 patrol template, 1 sticker, 5 markers, 1 Long John Silver miniature, 5 tokens, 24 hints, 12 trick cards, and 6 double-sided mini-maps.  MSRP is $29.99.

Last month, Asmodee released Matagot’s Trails of Tucana (see “Asmodee USA Reveals ‘Trails of Tucana’ for Release into the U.S. Hobby Channel”).
