In November, King Features hinted at a new board game when they announced the release of Flash Forward, a new motion comic strip, and A Minute to Save The World. (see "'Flash Gordon' Rereleased Into Theaters"). Plastic Meatball recently revealed in the deal announcement, according to LicenseGlobal, that they will be the ones launching a Kickstarter for said board game in January. The family board game will be retro-style, and revolve around players traveling to the different moons of Mongo to form a force capable of taking down Ming the Merciless.
The licensing deal also covers housewares, paper goods, puzzles, and other consumer product categories. Also, the license extends into comic and animated versions of Flash Gordon and the characters associated with the IP.
