Asmodee USA will release Rapa Nui, a Easter Island-themed worker placement game by Matagot, into stores on January 22.

The Moai were mysteriously erected on Easter Island and have stood along the coast there for centuries. This game is based on the theory of how islanders managed to move the giant stone statues from the quarry to the coast. Each turn players deploy their workers one at a time, then activate them to generate bonuses and perform tasks. The goal is to build chains of workers to construct Moai on the coast. The players are given points for the number of Moai they build and style of their statues.

The game box comes with a double-sided board, 21 Moai figures, 20 Pukao pieces, 22 Villager figurines, 4 Sorcerer figurines, 4 Chief figurines, 27 Offering tiles, 29 Ahu tiles, 4 Rongorongo Tablet tiles, 4 player boards, 16 Improvement tiles, 16 Resource cubes, and 4 Animal Totem tokens. This game is for two to four players, ages 10 and up, plays in 45 minutes, and will retail for $59.99.

Asmodee USA will also release Matagot's Monster Soup and the Captain Silver: Revenge Island expansion for Treasure Island (see "Matagot Cooks up 'Monster Soup,' Expands 'Treasure Island'").
