Tom Angleberger, author of the Origami Yoda chapter book/graphic novel hybrids, is the writer for IDW’s latest Disney graphic novel, Doorways to Danger. Jeff Harvey is the artist for the project.

Doorway to Danger features the classic Disney characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, and Uncle Scrooge, who are competing in a reality TV game show with a host who is not entirely on the up-and-up. The 112-page, full color hardcover will be available in June with an MSRP of $12.99.

In addition to the Origami Yoda hybrid graphic novel/chapter books, Angleberger is the artist for Scholastic’s new Geronimo Stilton graphic novels (see “Geronimo Stilton Gets a New Look in Graphix GN”).

IDW acquired the license to produce comics featuring the classic Disney characters (Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge) in 2015 (see “IDW to Publish Disney Comics”). Many, but not all, of IDW's previous Disney graphic novels have been imports from Europe; in 2019 they published The Haunted Mansion, which was written by Sina Grace (Iceman) (see “Disney’s Haunted Mansion Is Ripe for Adventure”).
