DC will release an anthology comic with top talent including Gene Luen Yang, Mariko Tamaki, and many more on May 5 in celebration of Asian Heritage Month.

DC Festival of Heroes: The Asian Superhero Celebration #1 celebrates DC Comics’ roster of Asian and Asian American characters written and illustrated by some of DC Comics’ top talent.  Writers such as Gene Luen Yang, Mariko Tamaki, Minh Le, Ram V, Greg Pak, Dustin Nguyen, Amy Chu, Alyssa Wong are joined by artists Bernard Chang, Marcio Takara, Nguyen, Trung Le Nguyen, Francis Manapul, Marcus To, Sean Chen, Sumit Kumar, Jim Cheung, Jae Lee, Jen Bartel, Philip Tan and more.  

The one-shot’s lead story is written by Gene Luen Yang (Superman Smashes the Klan) and illustrated by Bernard Chang.

Writer Ram V's story pulls back the curtain on Shoes, Catwoman’s protege, and dives into the secrets of her real name, origin, and her mother’s identity.

Mariko Tamaki presents an original story featuring Cassandra Cain, better known as Batgirl.

Minh Le (Green Lantern: Legacy) teams with artist Trung Le Nguyen (Magic Fish) for an all-new story featuring Tai Pham, DC’s new Vietnamese American Green Lantern (co-created by Le and Andie Tong).

Additional stories and portraits feature Katana, Lady Shiva, the Atom, New Super-Man, Red Arrow, Damian Wayne and the al Ghul clan, Dana Tan/Batman Beyond, and more.

The 96-page one-shot features a main cover by Jim Lee with Alex Sinclair, as well as a variant cover by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau. MSRP is $9.99.
