Vault Comics revealed Barbaric, a new sword and sorcery series for mature readers, for release in June.

Meet Owen the Barbarian, a man cursed to live out the rest of his life doing good. His sidekick, a blood-drunk sentient axe, helps Owen splatter the blood of witches and warlocks across the landscape. This tongue-and-cheek bloodthirsty fantasy series was written by horror veteran Michael Moreci (see "New Halloween One-Shot for 'Stranger Things' ")with art by Nathan Gooden (see "Vault Comics Unveils 'Vampire: The Masquerade' Comic Series"), coloring Addison Duke, lettering by Jim Campbell, and design by Tim Daniel. Moreci commented on the book:

"Barbaric, to me, is a series that wraps both its arms around the comics medium--it's big, from the get-go, in ways only comics can be,” said Moreci. “I want this to be a huge story that continues on the way Hellboy does, and I want it to feel like that kind of epic. It's my ode to pulp adventures, and immersive world-building, and larger-than-life characters"

The first issue will also feature a variant cover by Nathan Gooden and Tim Daniel that pays homage to Barry Windsor-Smith’s Conan The Barbarian #1 (1970) cover.
