Steamforged has shared release information for the first four titles in its new Horizon Zero Dawn game series, including the ore game set and the first three expansion sets, releasing later this year.

Based on the PlayStation 4 video game (see “Steamforged Brings ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ to Tabletop”), Horizon Zero Dawn:  The Board Game is a semi-cooperative game in which the players become hunters in a world overrun by machines who seek to prove their worth to the Hunters Lodge by hunting machines and gathering resources for their village.  Ultimately, they hope to upgrade their equipment and skills for the final hunt.

The core boxed set, available now, comes with the resources needed to play the game, including 4 hunters, 20 machines, board tiles, cards, tokens, and dice.  It is recommended for 1 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and takes a little over an hour to play.  MSRP is $99.95.

The Sacred Land Expansion will release on September 14 (see “Steamforged Games Announces ‘Horizon Zero Dawn Board Game’ Expansion Preorder”).  This set includes new characters, enemies, encounter tiles, and cards for use with the game.  MSRP is $69.95.

It will be followed by The Thunderjaw Expansion on October 8, featuring the oversized Thunderjaw miniature on a 120mm base, plus its cards and boards.  MSRP is $59.95.

Rounding out the trio of expansion sets will be The Stormbird Expansion, coming in November (see “‘Stormbird Expansion’ Swoops Down on ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’”).  In addition to the highly detailed miniature, it also includes the board and cards needed to add it to the game.  MSRP is $59.95.
