Toys 'R' Us will open a new flagship store at American Dream, a retail and entertainment complex in Bergen County, New Jersey, this month. The new store will be near the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere.
The Toys ‘R’ Us flagship will cover 20,000 square feet over two floors, and include retail toys, interactive experiences and product demonstrations, Geoffrey’s Café and ice cream parlor, and a two-story slide.
Toys ‘R’ Us is now owned by WHP Global, which acquired a controlling interest in the brand and its foreign operations earlier this year (see "Toys ‘R’ Us Brands Sold Again").
The company also entered into an alliance with Macy’s earlier this year to collaborate on an online Toys 'R' Us store and to establish Toys 'R' Us stores-within-a-store at 400 Macy’s stores, rolling out in 2022 (see "Toys ‘R’ Us in Macy’s").
