Writer Tom Taylor has signed an exclusive contract with DC Comics, he announced on his Twitter Wednesday. "I’m excited to announced that I have signed an exclusive contract with @DCComics," Tayor wrote. "I can’t wait to share everything we have planned for the future."
The announcement comes in an era when exclusive announcements by either of the Big Two comic publishers have been rare, as creators keep their options open for creator-owned works and work for other publishers. Taylor is beginning Neverlanders, a graphic novel series for Penguin Young Readers (see "Graphic Novel by Tom Taylor") next year; that series is presumably excluded from this deal.
Taylor’s most recent big hit for DC has been Superman: Son of Kal-El, in which the announcement that Jon Kent was bisexual brought "unprecedented" orders (see "Big Orders on Upcoming Releases").
