Warner Bros. Consumer Products has unveiled its merch range for The Batman, due out March 4 (see “’The Batman’ Trailer”), and it spans a wide array of product types and target markets, from fashion items from Lanvin and EleVen by Venus Williams to core merch licensees including McFarlane and Funko.
In a tie-up with department store retailer Saks Fifth Avenue, the chain’s flagship store in New York will have custom window displays and a pop-up shop featuring fashion, beauty, toy and collectible items beginning March 2 (and online March 15). The Lanvin line was introduced on the runway during Paris Fashion Week. The Curbs sneakers from Lanvin are a long way from the Batman and Joker Converse high-tops introduced in conjunction with the first Batman movie in 1989.
Other licensees include Curhartt (coats, etc.), TomboyX (t-shirts and underwear), House of Sillage (beauty products), Emilie Heathe (nail polish), Dr. Squatch (soaps), Puma, Boxlunch, Fast Track, Accessory Innovation, Manly Bands, Pull & Bear, Global Junk Brands, Mobyfox, Zara Fossil, Kross Studio, Spin Master, Rubies, Lego, and Hot Wheels. A limited edition The Batman Oreo cookie package and embossed cookie logo is also planned.
There’s a range of Funko and McFarlane products out in the coming weeks, and then more around and after the release of the movie.
