Writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos are launching Pearl III, a six-issue series about the assassin/tattoo artist they introduced in 2018 (see “Bendis Reveals Two New Jinxworld Comics”).
Pearl is a tattoo artist who was born into the world of the San Francisco yakuza (Japanese organized crime); in the earlier volumes of the story she learned the truth about her parents, and in this new series she looks for the ghost dragon of San Francisco. Dark Horse Comics will publish new editions of the first two volumes of Pearl’s saga in April, and the new series will kick off on May 25. The first issue will have a variant cover by Peach Momoko.
Bendis moved his creator-owned comics, branded as Jinxworld, from DC Comics to Dark Horse Comics last year (see “Bendis Moving Creator-Owned Titles to Dark Horse”).
