According to Video Business TV scribe extraordinaire Stephen J. Cannell has signed a long-term agreement with Anchor Bay Entertainment to release DVDs of the TV series he produced, including The Greatest American Hero, 21 Jump Street, and Hunter. For fans of superhero comics, The Greatest American Hero, which ran for 3 seasons on ABC from 1981-1983, is a title of some interest. Starring William Katt, Robert Culp, and Connie Selleca, The Greatest American Hero was the saga of a mild-mannered schoolteacher, who was given a special superpower suit by aliens. With its mixture of comedy and drama, the 45-episode TV series (actually 44 episodes and the pilot) is still fondly remembered by many. According to Video Business the first collection of The Greatest American Hero should be released in late 2004 or early 2005. Stay tuned for further updates.
