With issue #3 of Chip Zdarsky and Carmine Di Giandomenico’s Batman: The Knight completely sold out, DC is putting the first three issues together in a “compendium edition” together with a preview of Batman #125, which kicks off Zdarsky’s run as writer on that series.

Batman: The Knight: Compendium Edition #1 will be released on May 10 with a new card stock cover by Di Giandomenico. The 96-page comic will have an MSRP of $7.99, less than the price of two of the regular issues (which are priced at $4.99).

The preview is of “Failsafe,” Zdarsky’s first story as main writer on the Batman series, and will feature art by Jorge Jimenez and colors by Tomeu Morey, who will be the team for the ongoing series.

This is the second time in recent months that DC has published a three-issue collection; they did a similar collection of the first three issues of Tom Taylor and Yasmine Putri’s Dark Knights of Steel (see “DC Doing Quickie Collection of ‘Dark Knights of Steel’ #1-3 in Value-Priced Edition”).
