Zoe Thorogood is the artist for Rain, the adaptation of Joe Hill’s novella that Chris Ryall and Ashley Wood chose as the first title for their new Image imprint, Syzygy Comics (see “New Image Imprint”), and now Image will publish her new graphic memoir, It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth. The book recounts a six-month period in her own life where everything fell apart and she had to put it back together again, with art and her need to make art at the center of everything. Image will release the 120-page paperback in comic shops on November 9 and in bookstores on November 15 with an MSRP of $12.99.

Thorogood’s first graphic novel, The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott, about an artist who was about to go blind, was published by Avery Hill in 2020 (see “Preview: Avery Hill’s 2020 Graphic Novels”), and she is also teaming up with Dani Fernandez to create a Harley Quinn story for DC Pride 2022 (see “DC Announces 2022 Pride Lineup”).
