Initially published as three graphic novels, Batman: Earth One is a revamped telling of Batman’s story with a more modern sensibility but many of the familiar characters and plot elements, focusing on Bruce Wayne’s quest for revenge for his parents’ deaths. The first book in the series was announced in 2009 but not published until 2012; the second came out in 2015 and the third in 2021 (see “DC Sets Release Date for ‘Batman: Earth One’ Vol. 3”).
