BOOM! Studios will publish a new four-issue miniseries, Briar, by Iron Man writer Christopher Cantwell, artist German Garcia, and colorist Matheus Lopes. The series is a dark fairy tale fantasy in which Sleeping Beauty doesn’t get her happy ending but has to fight for survival instead. The first issue will go on sale in September 2022 with a main cover by Garcia and variant covers by Yanick Paquette, Mirka Andolfo, and Jenny Frison.

In addition to the current run of Iron Man (see "New Iron Man Costume Designed by Alex Ross"), Cantwell’s writing credits include The United States of Captain America, Doctor Doom (see "Christopher Cantwell to Write New 'Doctor Doom' Series"), and Regarding the Matter of Oswald’s Body. He is the Executive Producer and Showrunner of the AMC show Halt and Catch Fire, and he was the Executive Producer for the the Amazon Prime adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s Paper Girls. German is the artist for Ka-Zar: Lord of the Savage Land and Barbarella/Dejah Thoris (see "Preview: 'Barbarella/Dejah Thoris' TP").
