Peachstate Hobby Distribution has acquired Bliss Distribution Limited UK, expanding the company’s presence to a fourth continent, the companies announced. Bliss Distribution, based in Blackburn Lancashire, is a UK-based distributor of trading cards, toys, games, and collectibles to the UK, the EU, and other countries. It will continue to operate under its current name, with the tag line "Powered by PHD."
"We have long had an interest in the UK and European markets and believed we could provide service there," PHD Managing member Sito Sanchez said of the acquisition. "Once we met Bliss, their trajectory looked familiar to us. They have grown at such a rapid pace."
"The European sports card market is expanding and has enormous potential for growth," PHD Managing member Jim Grant noted. "PHD plans to be on the forefront of providing retailer and breaker support for sports trading cards."
"It became clear that the time had come for the business to be part of a larger organization," Bliss Managing Director Cathryn Dunstan said. "PHD are the perfect company to take Bliss to the next level. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our suppliers, customers & the team at Bliss as without their support this would not have been possible."
The UK location joins PHD’s six U.S. locations, Coqui Distribution in Sao Paulo, Brazil (see "Coqui does WotC to Brazil and Mexico"), and PHD HK in Hong Kong.
