IDW Publishing will publish a new edition of
The Rocketeer: The Complete Adventures, by Dave Stevens, in November. Originally published in 2009 (see “
IDW to Collect ‘Rocketeer’”), the book won the 2010 Eisner Award for Best Archival Collection but has long been out of print. The 276-page slipcased hardcover includes the entire run of Stevens’
The Rocketeer comics, colored by Laura Martin, as well as over 100 pages of extras. It will be released in November with an MSRP of $100.00.
It has been 40 years since
The Rocketeer debuted as a backup story in Mike Grell’s
Starslayer #2 (published by Pacific Comics), and IDW has been marking the anniversary with a number of Rocketeer titles, including a reprint of
The Rocketeer: Artist’s Edition (another Eisner winner that has long been out of print) and the new series
The Rocketeer: The Great Race, by writer and artist Stephen Mooney (see “
The Rocketeer Flies Again in ‘The Great Race’”).
