ReedPop has announced the health and safety policies for New York Comic Con 2022, and they include a requirement that all attendees wear a mask at all times while indoors at the venue, the Javits Center. However, unlike last year, participants will not have to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or a negative COVID-19 test) to enter the show. In order to be admitted to Javits each day, participants will have to fill out a “Health and Safety Acknowledgement” saying that they aren’t feeling ill, haven’t been exposed to COVID (to their knowledge), and will abide by the mask requirement.

In 2021, NYCC required proof of vaccination (or a negative test) to enter the con for the first time; attendees were given wristbands that they were expected to wear at all times (see “Covid Vax Required to Attend NYCC”). In addition, everyone at the con was required to wear a face covering. Compliance was not universal, however (see “Smaller Crowds, Bigger Venue Make for Safer, More Pleasant NYCC”).
