Marvel’s four Free Comic Book Day comics for 2023 will all be available through through Penguin Random House, a publisher spokesperson told ICv2.  In 2022, two of the three Marvel Free Comic Book Day comics were available exclusively through Diamond Comic Distributors (see “Marvel Announces Three FCBD 2022 Titles”).  “No exclusives this time around, all four will be available to shops that order from both Diamond and PRH,” the spokesperson said.

Marvel switched from Diamond Comic Distributors to Penguin Random House Publisher Services as its distributor to the comics Direct Market beginning October 2021 (see “Marvel Continues Transformation of the Direct Market”). Diamond offers Marvel titles as a PRHPS sub-distributor.  With this move on its Free Comic Book Day releases, Marvel appears to be completing a transition begun last year.
